Mimosa with Apples

Hello Friends,
Today I made another Mimosa creation. This is another of the new fall stamps from Bildmalarna and yes, another cutie!
Here she is ….. Mimosa with Basket of Apples. I also used the Birthday Wishes sentiment from Bildmalarna that came in one of the stamp kits. For the edge and the swirl I used my Magnolia Doohickey dies. For Mimosa’s mat I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 10. I love these, they are large enough that you can get the whole image in without trimming. My little pearl sprigs are from Hobby Lobby, a rose from my stash and the leaves are a McGill’s pine punch.

Isn’t she just the cutest little witch? I don’t normally make the same card twice but I have been experimenting with color and decided to color two of these images differently. Here is the second one.

Paper Piecing …. what fun!

Our challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers this time is to do some paper piecing.

IMG_1033 (Small)

I chose some bright colors for mine and matted each color with a corresponding color. My piecing isn’t as sophisticated as the other gals but I did do a little cutting on Miss Tilda and as you can tell she is in a few pieces herself. If you haven’t see this stamp before it is Bandage Tilda and Cindy has her in stock at Stamping Scrapping so be sure to go check her out. She also has the new collection up and ready for pre-order.

Thanks for stopping by and sorry my post is so short. Working long hours and have a few more projects to complete …. see you soon!

Whiff of Joy Sketch and GDT call

Over at Whiff of Joy they have an interesting sketch that I found rather challenging but fun. They are also having a guest design team call. I would love to be chosen for this even though it is for a short time I think it would still be fun.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I followed the same theme for the inside of my card.

Well, two postings in one day …. I am doing great!

I made this card for a couple of  challenges:

IMG_1010 (Small)

This card will be going to a cyber friend for their birthday and with Magnolia Down Under wanting newspaper I just had to make a birthday card and of course use Love News Tilda.  The sad part is I missed the challenge at Magnolia Down Under but that is OK because I still like the newspaper!! For my sentiments I used my fonts from my Just Rite Stamper and added them to the tickets which I also stamped.

IMG_1011 (Small)

For Miss Tilda I colored her with the following copics:

  • Skin – E11, E00, E000, E0000, R22, R21, R20

Chocolate and Cream – a yummy combination

This card was made using one of my new Tilda’s – Tilda with spring bundle. She is just so cute, I love her hand in her pocket.

IMG_1006 (Small)

The paper is from my stash and I really had to dig to get it. I have tons of paper but when you are looking for something specific, boy,is it a chore! For my distressing I used my Zutter Distrezz It All. I really love this thing, so much easier on my hands and definitely quicker! I sewed around the edges with my sewing machine. The blue rose I colored with my Copics using B00 and E40 to dull down the blue.

IMG_1007 (Small)

For Tilda I stayed with my chocolate and cream color theme and used the following Copics:

  • Skin – E11,E00, E000, E0000, R22, R21, R20
  • Clothes – E44, E42, E40, B02, B00, B000, B0000

Over at House Mouse and Friends we were to use this great sketch created by Sheri.

Sketch-001

And here is my card.

IMG_0955 (Small)

I used House Mouse In a nutshell for my image. Stamping Scrapping has a very large selection of House Mouse stamps. I also used my Just Rite stamp set for the sentiment. I just love these. All of them are interchangeable. You can change the border around your sentiment and everything!

I stitched my outer layer of using a straight stitch. I also used SU Ballet Blue and Pink Passion inks around the outside edges of my paper. I used a stipple brush and tapped it on the ink pad and then tapped it onto my paper to get that splattered look.

IMG_0956 (Small)

  • Mouse – E35, E33, E31, E30, R20
