Watercolor challenge

Over at Make it Crafty we are having a challenge this month to color an image with our choice of medium but to make it look like it was watercolored. Sounds easy right?

Well, at first I tried coloring with Copics and thought it looked like it was watercolored …. until I watercolored the background. Here is my first try. I like the color of the roses but it definitely does not look watercolored.

I decided that I really needed to try to watercolor so I could see what it should look like. I pulled out my distress inks and my water brush and started again. This is the finished one.

MiC Roses of Love

I like both of them but really like how the true watercolored image turned out.

The flower stamp is gorgeous isn’t it? This is a new stamp at Make it Crafty and it is available in both digital and rubber however the sentiments are only available in rubber.

There is still time to enter our challenge so come on over and check it out!
